When will 5g come to India before that we will see when first commercial basis it started ad its1995 . after fast growth with the subscriber base reaching 560 million in 2009 and well over a billion by 2017.Early deployment of mobile networks was based on 2G technology, with 3G technology entering service in 2010 and 4G in 2016.
All mobile services from 2G to 4G offered services based on increasingly advanced phones, with smart phones arriving about a decade ago.2G and the early 3G networks primarily offered voice services, but beginning with later 3G .
Now 4G technologies, the networks provide internet based services like video, email, and social media. 4G technology has been a major innovation in mobile technology with packet-switched data transmission and high speed connectivity.
4G networks now serve 240 million subscribers in urban areas across the country. LTE coverage in rural areas remains a challenge. 4G link speeds in India are picking up, averaging 6-7 Mbps as compared to 25 Mbps in advanced countries.
RELIANCE JIO AND AIRTEL STARTED 5G NETWORK TRAILS
Department of Telecommunications (DoT) granted permission to Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea Ltd on May 27, 2021 and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited on June 23, 2021 for conducting 5G Technology trials with a validity period of six months.where as Airtel will deploy Intel’s latest third-generation Xeon scalable processors, FPGAs and eASICs, and ethernet 800 series across its network to establish a foundation for rolling out a wide-scale 5G network, mobile edge computing, as well as network slicing, according to its statement.
Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani stated that the 5G network being developed by Reliance Jio has achieved data speeds of 1 Gbps.24-Jun-2021 Reliance is creating 100% owned intellectual property in 5G, AI/ML, blockchain, and mixed reality. Reliance Jio 5G Mobile has been launched in the annual meeting of Jio company on 24 June 2021.
DOT AND MINISTRY OF ELECTRONICS AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (MEITY)’S CRUCIAL ROLE
DoT had in May 2020 allocated 5G trial spectrum in 700-megahertz (MHz), 3.2-3.6-gigahertz (GHz), and 24.25-28.5-GHz bands to Airtel, Jio and Vodafone Idea to develop India-specific use-cases. The 5G auctions would take place later this year.
When will 5g come to india ,it’s expected to be at least 50 million smartphone users will be the early adopters of 5G in mid of 2022 .its great opportunity for big player like Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea Ltd to rollout it as soon as possible as there are in trail phases of 5g .
Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and Qualcomm are already making hardware in India, and many other global companies will be working together for the success of 5G in India.where as leading 5g hardware manufacturer Huawei and ZTE, which are still not invited for this trials.
Mean while Department of telecommunication DoT is working work on 5G where as Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has to work on devices, sensors, IoT and many other related devices like drones, robotics and AR/VR.
